Although our
main focus is teens, we also work to educate parents and our community of the damaging and life-changing
effects of drugs and alcohol and the importance of wise decision-making by...
- preparing and presenting visual
aids and inter-active programs
- educating parents about the dangers of hosting under-age parties
- educating
parents of the major warning signs to look for if they think their child is abusing drugs or alcohol, and how to talk their
children about it
- using personal testimonies and presentations from drug and/or DUI offenders and victims
to educate teens of the life altering effects of poor decision-making
- preparing and hosting substance-free activities for teens
to help them see that you can enjoy life without be involved with drugs or alcohol
- helping those who have been affected
by substance abuse or similar issues get their life back on track and help others learn from their mistakes
- working with other
organizations in our community who have similar goals
Sober Message Influenced
by Life Experienced, Inc. also teaches teens how to deal with life-altering situations. SMILE stresses the importance of turning
a negative into a positive, learning from one's mistakes, and that "tomorrow is never guaranteed."
None of these goals can be achieved without raising funds. We depend on YOUR generosity. SMILE
works to raise funds in order to support these programs, fund the “Laura Gorman Scholarship
of Outstanding Character,” and help support St. Petersburg Catholic High School's SADD (Students Against Destructive
Decisions) chapter. There are other NEW programs and scholarships that we have in the making, but they can not become
active without your help! All donations go directly to SMILE's programs.
